Has Auburn Found Their Quarterback?

The Auburn Tigers have easily landed one of the top quarterbacks coming from the state of Alabama, Bo Nix. Bo comes to the Plains from Pinson, Alabama, and measures in at 6’1’’ and 200 pounds. According to some, he was the most successful quarterback in AHSAA history. In his senior season, he became the first quarterback to pass for 12,000 yards of total offense for Pinson Valley. While at Pinson Valley he recorded two state championships and was also named Mr. Football. As we all know that Jarrett Stidham is departing from Auburn and entering the NFL draft, who will be Auburn's next star quarterback, Malik Willis or Bo Nix? Willis who already has some game time experience for the Tigers, was also a highly talented quarterback in High School. Both quarterbacks provide a great amount of talent, but Bo may have an edge with his dad, Patrick Nix, a former successful quarterback at Auburn. In addition to his Auburn legacy, Bo developed as a quarterback under his dad's guidance. With Chip Lindsey being departed from Auburn as the offensive coordinator, it is most likely that Gus Malzahn will be making the play calls in the 2019 season. Last season, Auburn went 7-5, and Gus can feel the pressure of finding the next star quarterback for the program as soon as possible. While I am from the state of Alabama and an Auburn fan, the expectations Auburn fans have for their football team are extremely high because we all know who we do not want to have success and that would be Alabama. If Gus is unable to find success fast, then Auburn fans will be ready to see him get fired within days following the last game of the season. It will be very interesting to see how Gus Malzahn breaks up the reps during spring ball between the two quarterbacks. Gus has always stated before “At the end of the day we are going to play our best players.” With the amount of pressure Auburn fans put on Gus, he will have his hands busy this spring making the decision of who his starting quarterback will be for the upcoming season.
