Mississippi State Women's Basketball is returning to the SEC championship following a victory against Missouri on Saturday. Not only have they been on fire this year, but they have been doing well in previous seasons. Key player, Teaira Mccowan, has been very dominant and has been leading her team down the right path. She finished with 27 points and 16 rebounds for her 26th double-double season. Another key player, Anriel Howard, has 19 points and 10 rebounds. These two combined with 26 points for the Bulldogs.

Vic Schaefer, Mississippi State's head coach, said about the key players, "They are getting more comfortable playing with each other and they are building chemistry over time. They both enjoy making each other better which allows them to push for success." Schaefer also responded to the teams win against Missouri by saying, "I am really proud of the way they competed today. They cam out of the gate right from the start and were locked in." Sophie Cunningham from Missouri had an impressive game with 33 points and broke the 34-year-old scoring record at Missouri early in the first quarter.

Mississippi State advances and will take on Arkansas in the championship game. It will be interesting to see what teams are ready to compete and respond to the pressure.
