Kyler Alexander and Grant Williams

Tennessee has always been known to choke in the past. this past weekend is no different the Tennessee Volunteers the suffered I lost from the Auburn Tigers and the SEC championship game. They single-handedly had 17 turnovers in the championship game this past Sunday in Nashville against Auburn. The volunteers will need to regroup extremely fast because right around the corner is the March Madness Tournament. The entire team's focus is now move forward to playing against Colgate in the first round of the tournament. While having the SEC player of the year on the team I do not see this being huge problem. Tennessee came out with a statement saying,“Thank God we have another opportunity to compete for something bigger.” While reading this statement it lead me to believe that the the Tennessee Volunteers have the right mindset of going forward and realize that they have messed up their opportunity to have the best seed possible. One advantage that Tennessee has moving forward is the amount of experience they have on the team versus other teams that they will be playing against in the second and third round. Also, I think the players will have a different mindset because they now realize that if they lose this time around they will be going home and the season will be over. Some of the ways that Tennessee could find success in this tournament is by turning the ball over less as well as trying to find ways to allow Grant Williams to find success shooting the basketball underneath the basket as well as outside on the three-point line. As we all know Tennessee has struggled with guarding teams that shoot the three very often. If this continues to happen I do not see them making it very far in the NCAA tournament. Although I strongly believe that coach Rick Barns will find a way to turn his team around in just enough time for the tournament ahead.
